​Around 2PM, on the 1st October 2018, HPR volunteers have had a Campaign at Groupe Scolaire Ste Famille.
This is via the Road safety and First Aid Project through which we are in partnership IMCC FAIR.
During this Campaign, around six hundred and ten students including their teachers were present where HPR volunteers and student from health club ( The ones we used to train in previous teaching sessions) raised awareness about road safety and First Aid.

This week the Health People Rwanda has held a teaching sessions in high schools around Kigali city to help students from Groupe Scolaire Ndera and Groupe Scolaire Camp Kanombe to learn about Road Safety at early age and that this can lead to safer bahaviours in later and They have also Learn about CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation: This involves giving someone chest compressions and rescue breaths to keep their heart and circulation going. If they start breathing normally again, stop CPR and put them in the recovery position.

​Road Safety Education in schools aims to prepare and equip students especially young people with the knowledge, skills and positive attitudes that will enable them to stay safe in and around different traffic environments. Therefore morbidity and mortality due road traffic accident will reduced that is our main goal in HPR to have health nation free of accident.
​
But if accidents happen HPR also teach first aid to students provides them with the essential skills that can be life-saving.

Student from high school were taught about CPR and recovery position by HPR volunteers

​In this week from 11th to 14th September HPR have reached three school where at GS Ste famille and GS Ndera students learnt about CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a lifesaving technique useful in many emergencies, including a heart attack or near drowning, in which someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped.) and Recovery position (a position used in first aid to prevent choking in unconscious patients. While  at Ste Ignace students from health club learnt about Road safety.

On 4th and 7th September 2018 Health People Rwanda has resumed the teaching sessions in high schools as it has been done since 1 year ago under the project called "Road safety and first Aid Initiative" .  
 The teaching sessions were conducted at Groupe Scolaire Saint Famille and Groupe Scholaire Ndera . GS St Famille is located near Round point in Kigali city like 200 meters from chez Rubangura. While GS Ndera is Located near Ndera Neuropsychiatric Hospital.

On the 12th August each year, the whole world celebrates the world Youth day. International Youth Day (IYD) is an awareness day designated by the United Nations. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. The first IYD was observed on 12 August, 2000.
It is observed annually on 12 August. It is meant as an opportunity for governments and others to draw attention to youth issues worldwide.
