Today April 4, 2019 at Police headquarter HPR signed the MoU with Rwanda National Police focusing in the area of Road safety, first aid, exchange of information and research in the same field. This partnership agreement is intending to promote the Road safety and first aid in order to reduce the morbidity and mortality related to road traffic crashes. The agreement aim at generating tools and interventions for Road safety and First aid to ensure healthy and prosperous communities in Rwanda through evidence based practice. |
According to Dr Innocent Nzeyimana, the Chief executive Officer of HPR said “we chosen to work with the police as organ which has expertise the field of road safety, this will help us to organize our activities well starting where it is most needed and to improve our current activities related to road safety all in line to reduce the consequences of road crashes”
Dr Innocent also said that HPR is planning to work with the public transport federations and associations for motorcyclists and bus drivers in the same area of Road Safety. Currently HPR has started to work with the federation of motorcyclist but there is no formal agreement signed with them yet, and this is something HPR will continue to work on to have a partnership agreement with them.
