Among activities of the action-packed day included teaching students at Gs Ste Famille about road safety behavior and 48 members of health club in this school were also the one who teach others students about first Aid skills like : Immobilizing suspected fractured limb to reduce further injuries, Stop bleeding, managing dehydration and burn. Health Club students had an opportunity to raise road safety awareness, stressing on behavior like wearing helmet on motocycle, seat belt in a car, explaining about road safety It will help us as Rwandan population in reduction in morbidity and mortality related to road traffic accidents
In his speech, Representative of health club at Ste Famille Teacher Emmanuel thanked HPR for the great impact they made on the future of young people. He also state that “about 71 percent of the total road accidents registered of the last year were either caused or involve motorcycles, pedestrians and bicycles and Most of these road accidents are avoidable if traffic rules are strictly adhered to by all road users. We are lucky because Health People Rwanda is conducting this important teaching sessions to our students and they have learnt a lot of skills that will be useful not only for Rwandan society but also for our future generations”
